Title:
Private Pesticide Applicator Training

Date/Time:

  • 12/15/2009 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM

Description:
Private pesticide applicators must be certified to buy and apply “Restricted-Use” pesticides on their own farms. Initial certification or renewing a certification that has lapsed is done by passing an examination administered by the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship (IDALS). Since 1993 Private Pesticide Applicators can maintain and/or renew their certification by attending an approved Continuing Instruction Course each year. Listed below are the CIC classes scheduled for this winter season in in select Northeast Iowa counties. This year there will be a $20 registration fee per participant charged at the door. We anticipate this registration process will require some additional time so ask everyone to plan accordingly and arrive at the training site a half-hour ahead of start time. The programs will begin promptly at the times listed. You must attend the full 2-hour program to receive credit for attendance. Questions about specific sessions should be directed to the County Extension Office organizing the specific training session. In cases of inclement weather, the decision to alter this schedule will be made by the host county extension office. Extension Field Agronomists covering PAT sessions held in conjunction with county crop clinics or PAT sessions scheduled for after January 31st, 2010 are noted.
